Returns & Refunds Policy
Entar (South Africa)
This Returns & Refunds Policy applies to all purchases made through Entar (www.entar.co.za). It is drafted in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA) and other applicable South African legislation.
By placing an order on our website, you agree to the terms set out below.
1. SHIPPING POLICY
1.1 Delivery Areas and Costs
- Shipping costs are calculated during checkout based on your delivery address and the size and weight of the items ordered.
- Delivery is available to most major centres within South Africa.
- Certain remote or high-risk delivery areas may incur additional courier charges. In such cases, Entar will contact you for approval before processing the order.
1.2 Delivery Timeframes
- Estimated delivery times are typically 3 to 5 business days for major centres.
- Outlying areas may require an additional 1 to 2 business days.
- Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. Any known delays will be communicated via email.
1.3 Delivery Conditions
- Entar does not deliver to PO Boxes. A valid residential or business address is required.
- All shipments are insured and trackable.
- Risk of loss passes to the customer upon delivery.
If a product is damaged in transit or does not arrive, please notify Entar immediately so that a replacement or refund can be arranged without delay.
2. COOLING-OFF PERIOD (ONLINE PURCHASES)
In terms of Section 44 of the CPA:
- Customers may cancel an online purchase within 7 (seven) days of receiving the goods, without providing a reason.
- The product must be returned in its original, unused, and resalable condition, including all original packaging, accessories, manuals, and documentation.
- Shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to an error on the part of Entar.
Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of receiving the returned product.
3. RETURNS FOR NON-FAULTY PRODUCTS
3.1 Eligibility
Non-faulty products may be returned provided that:
- The return request is made within 7 days of delivery
- The product is unused, undamaged, and in resalable condition
- All original packaging, seals, accessories, warranty cards, and documentation are included
3.2 Restocking Fees
- Sealed but unopened products may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%
- Opened or incomplete products may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 25%
These fees are permitted under the CPA where goods are not defective and are returned for reasons other than supplier error.
3.3 Exclusions
The following items may not be returned unless defective:
- Software, digital products, and licenses once opened or activated
- Consumables (e.g. ink, toner, batteries) once opened
- Products damaged through misuse, negligence, or improper handling
4. RETURNS FOR FAULTY OR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS
4.1 CPA Implied Warranty
In terms of Section 56 of the CPA:
- All products carry a 6-month implied warranty against defects.
- Within this period, customers may choose a repair, replacement, or refund for defective goods.
This right applies regardless of manufacturer or supplier warranties.
4.2 Manufacturer Warranties
- Most products are supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty of at least 12 months, unless otherwise stated.
- Warranty claims beyond the CPA’s 6-month period are handled in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty terms.
- The final decision on repairs or replacements rests with the manufacturer, distributor, or authorised service centre.
4.3 Warranty Process
- Faulty products must be reported as soon as reasonably possible.
- An RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation) process may be required.
- Customers are responsible for backing up all data prior to returning products. Entar is not responsible for data loss.
Products approved for return under warranty may be repaired, replaced, or credited at their current or most recent retail value.
5. PRODUCTS SOURCED FROM THIRD-PARTY SUPPLIERS
Entar sources products from third-party suppliers. Availability, warranty handling, and turnaround times may be influenced by supplier processes.
Entar remains responsible for ensuring that all consumer rights under South African law are upheld.
6. RETURN PROCESS
To initiate a return:
- Contact Entar using the contact details on www.entar.co.za
- Provide your order number, product details, and reason for return
- Await return authorisation and instructions
Returned products must be securely packaged. We recommend using insured and trackable shipping for returns.
7. REFUNDS
- Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method where possible
- Refunds are processed within 7 to 14 business days after inspection and approval
- Bank processing times may vary
8. GENERAL CONDITIONS
- Entar reserves the right to inspect all returned products before approving a refund or replacement
- Products returned without prior authorisation may be rejected
- This policy does not limit any rights provided under the Consumer Protection Act
